Real talk: Curves are sexy as hell. Curves are what make you feminine. In a skinny vs. curvy battle, curvy will always win the sexy points.

However, I think sometimes we use "wanting to stay curvy" as an excuse and/or a crutch. I used to be fat-curvy, and now I'm skinny-curvy, so I feel like I have some insight on this particular issue. Beyonce is a good example of skinny-curvy. Kim Kardashian, too. Shakira said her hips don't lie, you should believe her.

If you have an hourglass body shape, losing weight and toning up your muscles will only enhance it. It will make your waist more defined (read: smaller) and your muscles firmer instead of flab-attack. You'll still have an ass, it will just be perkier and more awesome.

Don't hold yourself back because you're scared to lose your curves. You won't. You'll just tone 'em up and be less jiggly.

What really matters is how YOU feel about your body, because that's what's gonna give you confidence to rock that shit, so do what you gotta do to get happy with yourself! It took me a loooong time to realize that the actual key to happiness and success is being confident in my own skin.

  1. Curvy is better! Gotta keep that ass.

  2. Agreed! I love being skinny curvy now; I feel so much better in my skin.

  3. I love my curves but it's also taken me awhile to get here and honestly, I owe it ALL to CrossFit. I've lost the weight before but really just focused on being 'skinny' but, now? I want to be strong and healthy. I love the muscles I'm gaining. I love that my booty is getting bigger (in a good way) I love seeing the lines of muscle in my legs.

  4. I totally agree with you!! I love my ass, it is probably the only body part that I like/love. But with that said I still do squats and lunges because I want a toned butt and not a butt full of cellulite. My butt isn't going any where!! LOL

  5. my butt won't go anywhere, but my boobs sure do. whenever I lose weight they are the first to go :(
